The Lawrence D. Miles Value Foundation (MVF) launches the
Miles Value Institute for Virtual Education
The Miles Value Institute is a source for virtual education in advanced Value Methodology techniques. The Institute will offer virtual (online) training resources for professionals interested in expanding and enhancing their knowledge, skills, and tools to improve value in products, processes, projects, services, and organizations. As a result of training taken through the Institute, professionals interested in Value creation and improvement are awarded Professional Development Units (PDUs). PDUs may be used for a variety of professional certifications, registrations, and re-certification or certification maintenance including SAVE International Value Specialists, ASQ Quality engineers and managers, PMI Project Managers, AACE Cost Engineers and Estimators, Professional Engineers, etc. (Check with your professional societies or entities to confirm PDU acceptance criteria when submitting PDUs for certification, recertification, or registration credit.) In addition, the virtual Institute supports our global university outreach providing a new college theory textbook and other University level educational materials. The Miles Value Foundation (MVF) was created in 1977 to promote and fund the development of educational programs, new applications, and a research library for the study of the Value Methodology (VM). VM includes the applications known as Value Analysis, Value Engineering, and Value Management.
The MVF accomplishes its mission by:
1. Promoting public awareness of the Value Methodology through publications, multimedia programs, and technology transfer programs
2. Offering practical and innovative applications of VM in business and government
3. Developing and teaching courses in the value principles and methodology at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels
4. Encouraging professionals and students to undertake research and development of value-related applications and programs through scholarships and grants programs. This platform has many tools available for us, and it will be overwhelming to try to learn them all in one event.
