Mr. Ried has been actively involved in VE/VM for more than 40 years spanning across several manufacturing sectors including automotive, optics, semiconductors, aviation, electronics, chemicals and machinery. He has been actively involved internationally as a champion of VE/VM throughout Europe and Asia, has presented papers at 35 SAVE conferences, as well as at conferences hosted by SJVE, KIVM, INVEST, and VDI.
He is a Certified Value Specialist (CVS) and has authored 14 books on VE, Cost management, quality, and project management.
Mr. Ried has been instrumental or had key roles in the creation of long standing VE/VM programs within numerous organizations which includes BMW, Airbus, Siemens, Daimler Chrysler, Volkswagan, Audi, Krupps, BASF, Ciba Geigy and Bombardier.
He is a Director of the Lawrence D. Miles Value Foundation.
