Alfred I. Paley
Al is a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn with the degree of BSEE. Al taught VA/VE Workshops at Hofstra University, Continuing Education Department, Long Island, NY, for construction and industrial participants, for four semesters.
He has extensive background in production, engineering research and development (R&D), and is patented in his field (Electronics and Acoustics). During his career in Industry, Al held many management positions including: Value Engineering Program Manager for Loral Electronic Systems, and Vice President of Programs for a military-industrial R&D and production company. Al worked for the US Army, CECOM, Ft. Monmouth, NJ, where he held the position of Value Engineering Program Manager (VEPM) for eight years, before his retirement.
Al and his wife, Sylvia, started NRI Associates, LTD, in 1984, a VA/VE consulting firm located in Tucson, Arizona.
He is a Director of the Miles Value Foundation, and served as Secretary of the Foundation. Previously, Al served as SAVE VP Service Industries.
Al has published and lectured extensively in VA/VE, including presentation of a paper in Great Britain. During his career at CECOM he was awarded Department of Defense, 1991 "Outstanding Value Engineering Individual"; SAVE, 1991 "Distinguished Service Award, Government"; and Department of Defense, 1995 "Outstanding Achievement Through Value Engineering Award".
For the past three years, he and his wife have been promoting the concept of the Value Institute/Value Academy to the Board of Directors of the
Miles Value Foundation, and other SAVE groups.
