James A. Dziekonski
Jim is educated in mechanical engineering and industrial product design. He has had a wide and varied thirty years of construction, industrial systems, financial, quality, engineering and value engineering (VE) project experience. With this diversity of experience, has led project teams that have reduced costs by 20% to over 50%. Mr. Dziekonski has consistently brought projects in on time and under budget.
For a ten year period, Mr. Dziekonski was responsible for the Value Assurance Program of the Kohler Company in Kohler, Wisconsin. Subsequent to this assignment, he was Manager of Value Planning for the Western Region of Joy Manufacturing Company.
For the past twenty years, he has had value engineering experience on construction projects of all types throughout Europe, the Pacific Basin, Saudi Arabia and the United States. He has provided VE services to Navy Divisions, Army Districts, Air Force Wings, Marine Divisions, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Prisons, General Services Administration, Veterans Administration, US Fish and Wildlife, National Park Service, Department of Agriculture and numerous commercial clients.
He conducted more than 100 VE/FACD projects during the past five years for the Pacific Division, Navy. During his career, Mr. Dziekonski has taught more than 500 value engineering training workshops in both industry and construction. He has also taught Creativity, Human Resource Development, Teamwork and Team Building courses. He has functioned as a CVS team leader and facilitator on more than 450 construction projects and in excess of 250 manufacturing, product and system type task force studies.
Jim Dziekonski is President of CIMS, Inc., a Honolulu area based value management consulting firm. He is Past President of the Rocky Mountain SAVE Chapter, which he founded in 1978. He was Vice President of Finance for the National SAVE organization from 1972-1973 and 1980-1985. He holds two industrial product patents. He has written and published numerous articles on the subject of Value nationally and internationally.
